Talent Show

The last night we were on our cruise, Weston participated in the talent show. He did a magic trick called "frozen fingers." He told the little boy he could freeze his fingers. Weston told the boy to twist his hands like a pretzel, and then Weston would point to a finger. The objective was to see if you could move the correct finger. It isn't as easy as it looks.

Ice cream

Weston's favorite part of the entire cruise was the ice cream machine. Can you imagine having an unlimited amount of ice cream, and whenever you want? In a single meal, Weston visited the ice cream machine 14 times!! Granted, only 8 of those bowls were actually for him. It's a good thing we walked quite a lot in Mexico, so we could balance our weight.

Formal Night

The second night of our cruise was formal night. We all dressed up, and got "beautified." For dinner lobster, fruit, and salad was served. Our server was very nice, and liked to tease Weston.

La Bufadora

In Mexico, our family went to a famous site called La Bufadora. Translated to English, that means The Blowhole. It was almost like seeing a geyser. The water shot so high, and if you stood too close, you could get soaked.

Flag football

Some of our family has a tradition to play football every Thanksgiving. This is a picture of the other team huddling to make a play. Weston let his fast-running skills be put to good use. Uncle Shawn was running to make a touch-down, and didn't think any one was even close. All of a sudden, he saw Weston coming out of no where, and was soon right behind him. As a result, Shawn ran as fast as he could and ended up pulling his hamstring. Weston was well reconized from then on.

Entertainment

Even though Landon is not quite a part of our family yet, he made sure to play with all the little kids. While the adults were cooking Thanksgiving dinner, the young children watched Landon play, and played his PSP.

Our family

This is a picture of all the family members that attended the reunion.

The beach

When we were in California, we went to the beach. Who would have thought we'd ever be playing in the water in December? All of the cousins stood in a line, next to the shore line. When the waves would splash up, we would dig our feet in the sand further. Finally, we would have to try to jump, and get out feet free from the sand. This was a fun, bonding experience

Mexico!!

Over Thanksgiving, our family had the oppurtunity to go on a cruise to Mexico. This was the children's first cruise so they were very excited. The first this they said when entering the ship was, "this is bigger then a hotel." We were able to go on this vacation with Scott's brother Lee, his wife Paula, and their kids Kim and Mark.

LaCaille

For Marissa's foods class she was able to go to LaCaille. This was especially exciting because normally it is very expensive, and she would not have been able to go. Her first course was es cargo. Surprisingly, it tasted very good to her. Then she had sorbet to clense the palet, a salad, and the main course which was chicken. She then had a dessert. The dessert was ice cream flambe with bananas. In order to make flambe, they must light the entire cup on fire. This was Marissa's favorite part.

Science Fair

This year Weston was able to enter a science fair project. He decided his question would be: Is School or Home Lunch Cheaper? He figured out school lunch is cheaper for just one day, but over a period of time, home lunch costs less.

4-H Contest

This Saturday Marissa and Shanelle participated in a 4-H consumer decision making contest. They point of this contest was to find the cutest outfit, for the least amount of money. You also needed to take into consideration, the purpose for the outfit, how it fit, how it corresponded with the other outfits in your wardrobe, and how often you would wear it. Shanelle won first place in the intermediate division, and Marissa won second in the senior division.

Piano Lessons

This year Weston decided to take up piano lessons. He doesn't like to practice very much, but loves the recitals. He is currently learning to play You've Got a Friend in Me, and many Christmas songs.

Braces

On September 19, 2008 Shanelle got braces on both top and bottom teeth. They hurt for the first couple weeks, but she is now very excited. She is mostly foucused on getting her "fangs" pulled down.

Dance Performance

Over Halloween, Marissa was able to perform in her ballroom dance recital. She did two dances, and was very excited. It turned out pretty well, and even her Young Woman's came to watch. She liked her partner, Taylor, but is excited to have a new partner.
